Web Development Software

I have used and investigated several different web development software programs and I strongly believe that the best program out there, for functionality and cost, is Adobe Dreamweaver. If you are planning to learn web development, or to maintain your web page yourself, once it is built, both very reasonable goals for anyone with moderate computer knowledge, you will need a web development program. My suggestions are:

1. If you plan to just have a basic web page without flash, slide shows, videos, etc., and you only plan to update the text and pictures, I recommend Adobe Contribute CS5 or higher. This option requires very little to no web site experience.
2. If you plan to just have a basic web page without flash, slide shows, videos, etc., but you would like more flexibility to modify your site, I recommend Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 or higher. This options requires moderate to extensive experience and training in development and the Dreamweaver software.
3. If you plan to incorporate and maintain flash, slide shows, video or other advanced features, I would recommend Adobe Creative Suite 5 Web Premium or higher.
